I need to reinstall Winme

I have both my compaq recovery disk and my OEM Win Me
disk. When I use compaq recovery disk it just keep
saying "your system is now ready to restart" and it does
this over and over again. I made a boot disk form other
pc and ran scan disk..no problem were found..couldn't run
scanreg. I reformatted the c: drive because nothing was
really there...now when I try to boot cd with win me cd
it just says..Operating System Not Found. Does anyone
know how i can do a clean install or just install win me
period?

Most Win ME CD's are not bootable - which explains why your system won't
bootg
Boot with the floppy, (using 'with CD Support') and p;ut he Win ME CD in the
drive - type Setup - if it comes back 'not found' try this at the A: prompt

E:
Setup

that should get you started.
