I am trying to modify the properties of a file so it can
be shared in my budding network(not yet working). However
I cannot do this because the properties window does not
have a SHARE tab, as the instruction I am reading shows.
What step am I missing? Please help.
Thank you

Files don't have a sharing tab. Folders do.

Ah - that's different, then. :-)

Have you installed the File and Printer Sharing network components? Open up
the Network icon in the Control Panel and see if File and Printer Sharing is
installed.
