ISP can no configure windows 98 for internet

"mistral" wrote in message ... snip Yes, the TCP/IP DNS settings configured "obtain an IP address automatically". I can no remove/repair IE5.5 anymore - since its a part of win operating system. I have already revert from IE6.0 back to IE5.5 - and this not help me. sounds like like IE is messed up ... there 'should' be a repair function for IE5.5 as per http://support.microsoft.com/kb/194177/ have you tried another browser like Firefox to confirm it is an IE problem ? I want install IE6.0 SP1 back. I have download ie6setup.exe file from microsoft(480KB), but setup file requires to communicate with Internet do download updates. I tried, but setup can no connects, since i have problem with internet connection. I have no Firefox. have you downloaded the full version given to you in another thread ? (best bet to take the time and be done with it ..be sure to burn a copy) I tried download IE SP1 setup file on my local drive, for next installing on home PC, use the following methodic: http://www.updatexp.com/download-ie6.html During downloading process, I got 3 prompts : "Do you want to run this software"? (some "MSIE Core Web Fonts") However, each time I've selected 'Don't Run' (since I don't need install IE6.0 SP1 on that PC, where i just trying download it). Finally, I got message 'files can not be saved' or 'Download failed'. Where is problem? AFAIK you need to have the core fonts installed to complete the download (so say "yes" , the fonts do not require any real space) Finally, I obtain updates and reinstall IE6.0 SP1. Checked all network settings, then went through Internet Conection Wizard set internet connection again. The same result - pages not loads. Definitely, problem is more complex, not perfectly obvious. |

From looking at your original reponse, i dont see any results of a ping.. opena cmd window and type ping google.com what happens? what happens if you type ping 72.14.207.99 if the second one works and the first doesnt its simply a case of correcting the ip addresses of your dns servers in your router. Flamer. I found problem, finally: the reason was a Kaspersky antivirus! I uninstalled it and all works fine. I tried install new version of Kaspersky antivirus 6.0 - got same result: pages not loads. Look AV just block http connection. Now I need find good antivirus. mistral |
