Description of the Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows Me Setup Switches
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;186111 I don't think any of them do what you say, but I could be wrong, or you could be talking about an undocumented switch. Or perhaps you're thinking of: /d - This switch bypasses using your existing Windows configuration (such as your current Win.ini and System.ini files). I interpret that to mean that all configuration files will be overwritten. -- Gary S. Terhune MS MVP Shell/User "dickg" m wrote in message ... Not sure, but think it was "/p f".
There's a KB article that lists the setup switches in detail someplace. "dickg" m wrote in message ... I can't remember the setup switch for win 98 and ME to force setup to rewrite all the windows files. Can someone help me? I thought it was /nd, but i'm not sure. thanx -- dickg |

I had found the document mentioned in the replies. This was another switch
that was posted once upon a time in the system builder newsgroup. I'll do some more digging. this switch copied all the windows files and overwrote all. Really handy for a inplace reinstall. thanx -- dickg "Lil' Dave" wrote: Not sure, but think it was "/p f". There's a KB article that lists the setup switches in detail someplace. Just so you understand that in that case, you will need to reinstall all
updates, including IE, and probably some applications, since you will be overwriting many system files that the applications themselves may have previously updated. Personally, I'm guessing that it will be quite messy. -- Gary S. Terhune MS MVP Shell/User "dickg" m wrote in message ... I had found the document mentioned in the replies.
