Hi, Mike,
You're welcome. Thanks for isolating the one key for the Thumbnail View. It saved me some time as well. Your post of the full key matches all that "graffster" referred to in the X-Setup forum. It's nice to have this view restored. I've learned a lot in this forum thanks to your expertise and that of the other MVPs who post here. Regards, Tom Mike M wrote: Thanks Tom. It was your post listing what also was missing (New, Find & Sharing) that told me which key was causing the problem and it took just a couple of tests to check out which specifically was the key/value set used to enable thumbnail view. I've just posted the entire key as Charles has now mentioned his having lost the other functions you mentioned in your post. Regards - and thanks again for mentioning all that was missing and thus saving me some time finding which of several keys could have been the cause of the thumbnail problem. |

Mike can you tell me how to go about merging this file? I'm not
used to messing with the registry. If you haven't changed the default action for a reg file then double
clicking a reg file will merge it with the registry, otherwise select the file, right click and choose merge from the menu. There's no need to manually edit the registry or to use regedit. Don't worry, Charles it arrived by email a couple of days ago - and it's

I won't disagree with you there Noel, and the same can be said for you.

I'm very definitely an also-ran in these stakes, Joan - fumble-fingering my
way around the various sources to find things, while Mike has the background knowledge to be able to go to the nub of the matter straight away.
