Default Who out there has constant problems with WinME?

You don't have any problems because you are doing all the right things, my
dear!! Too bad the people that are so anxious to sell a computer don't also
know how they work or tell people how to keep them in top shape!!!

You could cut off the crotchety old guy's hands at the wrists, but that is a
tad drastic.....why not put some sort of *net nanny* on there?? Restrict
him to a few safe sites.....lol.

Cheers......Heather

I was just curious. I have NEVER had any major problems
with WME. I got this cookie cutter HP computer 3 years
ago. I didn't have any problems when I first started
operating and I still don't have any. The only time I had
a problem was when I tried to install the updated driver
for my modem. It didn't work right so I did a system
restore and found out from the company that a lot of
people were having problems with the updated driver and to
just stay with the one I have unless it started giving me
problems.

I guess I got a really stable version of WME. I run
ScanDisk and Defrag every month and every two months I do
a thorough, deep scan with ScanDisk. I also keep the
history folder limited to 2 days and the Temp and Temp IE
folders I empty at the end of every week. I have the
computer set to block third-party cookies and to prompt me
before accepting first-party cookies. I also run AdAware
and SpyBot every Saturday and I keep my firewall updated
and running at all times along with my AV program.

I think I'm actually pretty lucky that I haven't had any
problems.

(slightly off topic - anyone know how to get a crotchety
old man to stop downloading every program he sees?)
