Default Missing 'gb16.dsl' file

Unable to install a new ATI 9600 graphics card as during
install tells me the file 'gd16.dsl' is missing and needs
the Millenium Edition disc to recover it - this has been
lost! I think this was caused by not removing the nvidia
drivers properly before install and since the attempt
several other errors occur. Q1 - Would buying XP Home Op
Syst upgrade software resolve or should I source a full
version upgrade to replace the missing files?

Q2 -is there anywhere I can find the contents of this file
to paste in to the right place?

HELP!!

'gd16.dsl' is not included on the WinMe CD, so I guess it's part of the ATI
driver files.

As or when the installation process calls for your WinMe CD, navigate it to
the Windows\Options\Install or CABS folder on your hard drive.

The whole set of the WinMe installation files *should* be contained in one
or other folder - unless someone has deleted them!

Good luck

Mart

Thanks for this Mart,
Was half asleep when typed file name, should have been
gb16.dls not gd.dsl. Does your reply still apply?

Default Missing 'gb16.dsl' file

You've still confused me - gb, gd??

Anyway, there is only one .dls file on the CD and that is 'gm16.dls' which
is located in DRIVERS5.CAB (you will find that in the location(s) I
suggested earlier) But I doubt if it is the one you're after.

Also, there are no g*.dl* files anywhere belonging to WinMe

But yes, carry on with 'the rest of' my previous reply and try to install
the ATI drivers again.
