cdrom help

Hi, i have installed windows 98 on a presario 1710sb
laptop 200mmx 96 meg. I used a startup up floppy and
reformatted the hard drive did a fresh install of 98. The
cd works from the dos setup command but when windows
first runs the cdrom does not show up and a lot of the
drivers that require the disk cant be loaded. I have
reistalled several times but cannot get the cdrom to
respond or show up after the windows install.

Does the CD drive show in
/ start / settings / control panel / system / device manager ?
On a laptop, the CD may need special drivers, which
you can reinstal via Right Click / Properties.

Or you could try / control panel / add new hardware
and input the CD identification.
