Setup

When I try to start my computer it gets to the Windows 98 logo and freezes, I
start it up in the safe mode and it freezes. Whatever I start it in it
freezes up and will not let me go any further, can anyone help ?

Try to reïnstall your computer with the windows 98 CD, make sure you format
the harddisk with format on the install floppy disk, and then install dos
6.22 first and then windows 98.

You will have to supply much more information about the problem.

Was this machine previously working OK, what happened when it stopped
working, what have you tried so far, can you get to a DOS prompt, have you
run Scandisk or some other diagnostic procedure, what other symptoms or
oddities occurred that might be related, how severe is this freezing (can
you still change the Caps Lock or Num Lock light on the keyboard)?

Try unplugging anything you don't need (such as printer or scanner or
network) and does the problem change?

Can you boot to a DOS floppy?
