Default Starting the Computer in MS-DOS

Hi

I'm needing to start the computer in MS-DOS but can't remember how to do it!
Any suggestions?

I'm actually trying to run a scandisk & defrag on the computer, but despite
ensuring all active processes were shut down the scandisk keeps restarting. I
tried setting up a task at startup but that hasn't worked any better.

Try running Scandisk and Defrag while in Safe Mode - it's often the AV that
causes this type of problem.

To boot to Safe Mode, tap the F8 key about once per second during the POST
routine - you should end up in the Startup menu

To boot to DOS in ME - use a Windows Startup Disk
