ATI Rage IIc
Screen along with keyboard lock up frequently. Reinstalled Windows 98SE
along with driver for RAGE IIC AGP. Problem persists. System Properties indicate the Hardware Status for RAGE IIC AGP (English) is as follows: Video Card Configuration: ASIC Type: 3D RAGE IIC PCI Video Memory: 4MB SDRAM VGA Memory Boundary: 4MB DAC Type: Built-in I/O Base Address: d800h ROM Version: 3.089 VGA Functionality: Enabled VGA Functionality: Enabled 8MB @ 4048MB Current Video Mode: 640x480 60Hz N.I. (max bpp = 4) Monitor is capable of 1024x768. Current display set for 800x600. Using a display setting of 640x480 makes it very difficult to read the web and hard on the eyes. Acceleration set to NONE. Could frequent lock up problems be due to VGA display adapter not being able to handle an SVGA monitor? Much thanks for any help, Melissa |

I advise checking for driver updates. I found some on
http://support.premiopc.com/drivers.htm#video but other sites may have more updated drivers. Ultimately though you may want to consider replacing the video card for a newer model. |

No. It will either work or it won't. A mismatch between the video adapter
and the monitor would not create the symptoms you describe. -- Jeff Richards MS MVP (Windows - Shell/User) "Melissa" wrote in message ... Screen along with keyboard lock up frequently.
