Why did you stop responding to my post with the IDE controller problem. I've
replied to your partinfo question almost a week ago and nothing back. Am I on
my own now or what?

You know, as I have posted in your other threads, there is no sign of any reply from
you to Bill's last post in that thread.

Here is the thread as archived in its entirety on Google Groups:
http://groups.google.com/group/micro...+errors&hl=en&

Bill replied to you twice, the last time on August 3, asking for paretinfo output.
There is no record ANYWHERE of you posting back to him. I don't know where you sent
these supposed replies but they did not go here.

Hopefully Bill will see this thread and get back to you. I also asked you in one of
your other threads, to run partinfo from a floppy boot as Bill suggested, and you
have not replied to that either. You have tried partinfo from Safe Mode, which is
not what was instructed, and it failed. If you can start in Safe Mode with the
drive connected, you can boot from an Emergency Boot Disk, and run partinfo as
instructed, from there.

What Glen said.. I never saw it. My last post in that thread was about
2 wks ago. Repost it to that same thread and/or email it to me as an
attachment (the latter preferable due to word wrap)

I still don't see it using my newsreader (OE). However, I do see a post
from you on 8/16 and 2 on 8/9 using the Microsoft web interface. There's
a bug in either OE or the web interface, or a combination of both.
Perhaps because the thread is too deep. Unless I'm the only one
that doesn't see it, it might be better to continue here.

You need to run partinfo from a DOS floppy boot, not safe mode, to determine
if a drive overlay is installed. The idea is not to let the loader code from the boot
HDD run.

Download partinfo.exe Unzip it to a 98 DOS boot floppy. Boot with the
floppy, and enter
partinfo a:\partinfo.txt
(note the spaces and )
Open a:\partinfo.txt in notepad from within Windows.

If you don't know how to make one, you can get a 98 startup floppy from
bootdisk.com

I see nothing new in the original thread either, Bill, nor in Google Groups as yet.
If it appears in the web interface, then there is either a bug or the NNTP and web
interfaces are out of sync, I guess. %&#! that web interface anyway!

I don't see a response to your PartInfo request, either-- there or here.
I dropped out shortly after realizing he may be booting off a SCSI
drive, with two IDE drives also connected. I don't know that
arrangement, but I suppose it will show up in the PartInfo.

Thanks or Good Luck,

Naturally, you will not sue,
