Default DVD-ROM Drive Not Accessable

I have a computer that has two operating systems: Windows 95 and Windows 98.
These two platforms have completely different configurations, and I use these
different platforms for different things.
Recently, I installed a CD/DVD writing Suite called: Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD
Suite. Now, I am experiencing problems.
The platform that this software is installed upon is Microsoft Windows 98.
It seems that ever since I installed this program, I cannot access my DVD-ROM
drive from within the Windows Operating system, which includes MS-Internet
Explorer, Explorer and My Computer windows, as well as standard open and save
as dialog boxes.
However, within the confines of the Instant CD/DVD Suite from Pinnacle, I
have no problems accessing my DVD-ROM drive. This indicates to me that this
program is using different drivers, that evidently are loading at system
startup, which, is not compatible with Windows 98 (surprise, surprise.)
My root question is, how do I retain the functionality in the new software
that I purchased and, how do I regain the functionality in Windows for this
DVD-ROM drive?
