Default Read only files

How do I change a read only folder. I put pictures in a
folder and changed it by going to View and customizing it.
Now I can't get it out of read only. Every time I try, it
always returns to read only

Right click on the folder in Windows Explorer, select Properties and on
the General tab uncheck the "Read only" box.
