Windows Media Player not working right

I recently 'upgraded' to Windows ME and I cannot get my Windows Media Player
to sound right. i have used the graphic equalizer to change the settings but
it comes out to have a lot of bass, or not enough treble or not enough of
something else. Before I replaced my hard drive my player sounded
PHENOMENAL, but now it blows! SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!!! I NEED AN ANSWER, I
HAVE A LOT OF MUSIC TO PLAY ON MY COMPUTER!

No.....don't!! The newest Media Player will not work with WinME. Version 7
works well.

Probably worth a go :- 're-install' your sound card :-

'Remove' any/all or your 'sound, video and game controllers' using Device
Manager in Safe Mode. Re-boot and let WinMe re-install your sound card
drivers. You may need the Sound Card Driver CD (or floppy) which *should*
have
been supplied with your PC

I have been using Version 9 for a month and no problems with my WIN ME.

The newest Media Player works just fine with Windows ME. I have been using
it for over 6 months with no problems.

There may be just a bit of confusion here. The most recent version of WMP
that can be installed on Win Me is WMP9. The latest version is WMP10
however this can only be installed on systems running XP.
