Default DNS Resolution

I have a computer that will not resolve any host names to an IP address. I
have upgraded the machine from Windows98 to Windows98SE. I have renamed the
hosts file and flushed DNS but the problem continues. The problem started
prior to the SE upgrade. The customer was trying to install software provided
from their ISP from Covad. The install did not complete and the problem
started. I can not find anywhere where the software was installed. I do get a
DHCP address and I know the network card is working correctly but no DNS
resolution.

Are there any suggestions?

Winsock? Maybe? You'll want the 9x specific download:

There's something to be said for a "stab in the dark." My next guess was
going to be Norton. g Really though, glad it worked out for you. Come
again if you've additional troubles. In fact, sit a spell if you'd like...
You don't even have to use the web interface for this:
