Default Help needed please

When I try to scan my hard drive it keeps saying I have
other programs open, which I do not. I even tried this in
safe mode. My error msg is : An error has occured in your
program, to keep working anyway click ignore, save your
work in a new file. to quit this program click close." I
did this and it just repeats the message. I'm also trying
to defrag and it's not doing that either. Any help would
be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

The same thing happens to me when I Defrag, try

disconnecting from Internet and also change Screensavers
time to 60` minutes, this helps me, good luck..

Try disconnecting from Internet and set screensavers to

60 minutes, they are always running in the background
the try to scan and defrag, this helps me.
