Default Forgotten Windows Password

I have a 2 year old laptop that has been seldome used in
the last 8 months. I have forgotten the password that I
used for the windows logon. Can anyone help with how to
get rid of the logon screen each time I turn on the
laptop?

Default Forgotten Windows Password

Click cancel, get into the machine and delete or rename all files with a pwl
extension in the Windows folder. Reboot and now, rather than clicking cancel
or escape, either leave the password field blank and click OK and (hopefully)
you won't be asked for a password again alternatively enter a new password and
try and remember it for use next time you boot your PC.
