Removing left over files
A few days ago I changed printer. For some reason I decided to bring it back
to the store. Will buy another later. Unfortunately (for me) I forgot to uninstall it with the CD. Had no choice but remove it from Add/Remove, but as I suspected, I've got many files left over. What is the best way to get rid of as many if not all files? short of going through the registry and search and search, the printer was a HP F340. At least one of you will recognize me..sorry about that. -- cogito ergo sum |

System Restore perhaps. Add/Remove Programs for the "extras" and
uninstalling the Printer from the printer folder should remove the print drivers. -- Mike Maltby PAT (Paul) wrote: A few days ago I changed printer. Removing left over files
Mike,
Maybe i expressed myself not clearly, here goes: - Installed a new printer - Returned said printer 2 days later - Forgot to uninstall software = no Cd - Had to uninstall by Add/Remove all Items (4) of HP Printer - Not having CD for proper uninstall, there are left over files and presumably some items in registry?? Questions: How to get rid of those left over files and perhaps registry items??? Restoring would only bring back what I already removed....unless I'm way in left field?? that could be, my 50 year old son says I'm too old for this stuff...g Paul -- cogito ergo sum "Mike M" wrote: System Restore perhaps. Removing left over files
Mike:
Found the right stadium. Nice to see someone keep a sense of humour in certain situation Paul -- cogito ergo sum "Mike M" wrote: Maybe i expressed myself not clearly Did you read my original reply? Questions: How to get rid of those left over files and perhaps registry items??? Loop back and read my previous reply. You shouldn't need to use a CD to uninstall any software. Remove the drivers by doing as I suggested in my original post. Restoring would only bring back what I already removed....unless I'm way in left field?? Not even in the same stadium! -- Mike Maltby PAT (Paul) wrote: Mike, Maybe i expressed myself not clearly, here goes: - Installed a new printer - Returned said printer 2 days later - Forgot to uninstall software = no Cd - Had to uninstall by Add/Remove all Items (4) of HP Printer - Not having CD for proper uninstall, there are left over files and presumably some items in registry??
