How to copy broken drive?
Hi all,
I have a 2nd query please. I have a laptop-Packard bell with an athlon chip running on Win ME.It burnt out due to overheating in 2002.I have been told it would be very difficult to repair now as 700mhz chips are not made anymore.Apparantly i would need a new m'board as well. Can anybody tell me if I can connect into the laptop and copy its drive onto my desktop please??? Many thanks, Kev. |

How to copy broken drive?
Remove the drive from the laptop and with the use of an adaptor you can
mount the laptop drive in your desktop computer or use a USB drive enclosure. Any half decent computer repair shop can do this for you for a very reasonable price. Or search the internet and you will find all that you need. http://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=UT...op&x=36 &y=11 John Kev41 wrote: Hi all, I have a 2nd query please. How to copy broken drive?
Thanks John.
I was hoping that I could maybe connect some cables and copy but if it's broken I suppose that can't happen. Thanks for your advice,I'll take it to a shop and get it copied. I think there is about 7Gb on it.......hopefully they can copy it onto a couple of DVD discs. Cheers, Kevin.
