"Initial" Track on CD Rom Disk (Physical Stop or "Seek")
Hi,
Thanks to everyone for pointing me in the right direction with regards to the "initial" track position (inside) when you first insert a data CD. Another very important question: Is there a physical "stop" that stops the head (the head moves toward the center of the CD and "hits" a physical stop) at that "initial" track position, or is this done by "seeking" that "initial" track? Thanks in advance, Brad Before you type your password, credit card number, etc., be sure there is no active key logger (spyware) in your PC. |

dont have a reference,
but Both, there is a hardware limit to head movement, from which, the system logically seeks the innermost track which may not be the physical inner track, (multi session disks, multi OS disks, specialty disks, credit card advertising disks) -- - Adaware http://www.lavasoft.de spybot http://security.kolla.de AVG free antivirus http://www.grisoft.com Etrust/Vet/CA.online Antivirus scan http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/virusinfo/scan.aspx Panda online AntiVirus scan http://www.activescan.com Panda online AntiSpyware Scan http://www.pandasoftware.com/virus_info/spyware/test/ Catalog of removal tools (1) http://www.pandasoftware.com/download/utilities/ Catalog of removal tools (2) http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/n...aspx?CID=40387 Trouble Shooting guide to Windows http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/ Blocking Unwanted Parasites with a Hosts file http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm links provided as a courtesy, read all instructions on the pages before use Grateful thanks to the authors/webmasters _ "Brad" wrote in message ...
