Can only boot in safe mode after Hardware wizard failed.

I was doing a reinstall of a modem using the Insatl New Hardware Wizard which
failed to complete. Now I can only reboot in safe mode. Atempts at normal
boot result in the system rebooting itself and going to safe mode. I have had
a similar problem when I install a printer on a different PC and gaave up and
reformated the hard drive. Anyone have an idea?

Boot to Safe Mode
Right click MyComputer, click Properties Device Manager tab.
Remove any/all instances of the modem and close out.

Click Start Settings Control Panel Add/Remove Programs.
Uninstall anything related to the modem.
Close out and shut down.
Remove the modem and reboot.

Does the machine boot normally?

Windows 98 or Windows 95 Defaults to Safe Mode
