Every time I restart the PC, I get the following error
message "pgmonitr has caused and error in pgdsk.dll." Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this? Thanks. |

The error message means that you've got spyware installed on your PC and would
probably benefit from running either or both of AdAware and/or SpyBot. PGSDK.DLL You probably have Promulgate spyware installed on your system as a result of installing a P2P file sharing program. Have you got the Delfin Media Player from http://www.delfinproject.com on your system? This is spyware often associated with installing Kazaa and is often implicated in the error messages you are seeing. If present I would suggest you dump Delfin Media Player. Since you have one such unwelcome guest on your PC I would recommend you download yourself a copy of the free Ad-Aware 6.0 from Lavasoft (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/) and also SpyBot Search & Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/) and use them to check your system for other commercial parasites remembering that they are only as good as when you last updated their reference files. I also use a program called BHODemon (http://www.definitivesolutions.com/bhodemon.htm that checks for unwanted Browser Help Objects and SpywareBlaster (http://www.wilderssecurity.net/spywareblaster.html) which can help prevent some parasites getting a grip on your PC.
