Default .doc file click problem

When I click on a .doc file in Windows explorer, I get a
small window entitled Windows Installer, which asks me
to insert a "Microsoft Word 2000" disk. I have previously
installed "Office 97", and had given away the Microsoft
Word 2000 disk.

I can only get to a word file by opening Microsoft Word
first and then I
can get in through the "Open under File" or by clicking a
..doc file.

I have gone to "Registered File Types" in folder options
and the Microsoft Word Document
looks OK.

I have gone to the Microsoft site and could find no help.

Help wanted.

What do you have installed, Word 2000 or Office 97? When you gave away the
2000 CD, did you uninstall 2000? Do you still have the Off97 disk?
