Default DHCP subnet mask errors

I have 50 Win98 SE workstations that use DHCP to get an ip
address from a Netware 5 server. When their current lease
expires, the workstation senda a request to the DHCP
server for a new ip address lease. The machine receives a
proper ip address and default gateway however the subnet
mask comes back 255.0.0.0, stopping the machine from
connecting to the network. 50 other XP machines using DHCP
work fine. Anybody seen this before? Any ideas on how to
fix?

This usually results from an incorrect or inappropriate setting in your DHCP
server returning invalid data to the Windows 98 client.

You've got multiple problems with your DHCP server. 1st, your netmask scope
is incorrect. 2nd, your clients should be asking for renewals of their
current IP addresses half-way into the lease, and getting an updated lease,
before the lease expires.
