oe 6
i downloaded the service pac1 for 5.5 and now i have
outlook express 6.0 it says but my problem is when i open the attachments in mail its all goofy characters. it workd fine at work

Do you have Office installed?
are other files involved? Have you reinstalled ME over itself?
