Problems after reinstalling WIN 98SE

I had to reinstall win 98 se the other day and now my
MMorpg doesnt run. I had this problem when i first
installed the game but after a windoes update everything
ran fine.

The problem is that the load time is unbearable. When the
game was running fine I had no lag and maps loaded in
under 2 minutes. Now it takes over 2hrs to load a map

Open the System Properties window by right-clicking on My
Computer and then clicking Properties.

Click on the Performance tab and see if there is a message
there saying that Windows is working in DOS Compatibility
Mode and a warning saying that this can significantly slow
the performance down.

Perhaps your game requires a higher DX version than you now have,
after the reinstall.
