Hi Bryan,
.......How do I check the connect speed? More than likely when you're connected there's a small phone icon, or two little computers or something along those lines that shows on your task bar. Try right clicking on that little icon and see if an option like status comes up. ---==X={}=X==--- Jim Self AVIATION ANIMATION, the internet's largest depository. http://avanimation.avsupport.com Your only internet source for spiral staircase plans. http://jself.com/stair/Stair.htm Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Technical Counselor |

... I am running Win 98 with a Pentium(r)II Processor, Intel MMX(TM) with 32 MB of RAM. Is it possible to get more RAM for this older processor? Yes, usually used. Many/most P2 system motherboards were upgradeable to a max of 384M (128+128+128) or 128M of ram per memory slot. They should be 66MHz ram too. This spec makes them fairly rare to find, and therefore a little expensive. If you can find them for say under $20 each, I would be surprised, unless the owner doesn't really know what he/she has. In general you have to determine the manufacturer and model of the motherboard you have. From that info, you can determine the exact specs of the ram you need. If you want to take a shot in the dark, get SDRAM, 128M, 66MHz generic ram. That will have the highest probability of working correctly. And make sure you test it with memtest86. IF so, will it increase my Internet download speed? NO. That is determined by the modems on each end and the quality of the phone lines between the two modems, among other things. charles....
