I guess I'll have to read it's inspiration or see the film sometime!
I bet the Teletubbies are involved somehow. Am I right? Shane John John wrote: Mart has cracked The Da Harry Vinci Code! John Shane wrote: Harry, It's notable that you say you *seem* to recall your drive as listed as R/W and now it's just W. Well, given that the model is a W, perhaps you're just remembering seeing R/W elsewhere? Is TEAC CD-W58E what you mean? Because that is the model name. Not TEAC CD-R/W58E. Even if it is an R/W drive. Shane: Misunderstood you totally, thanks to Mart it's been cleared up.How about closing this thread for good and switching to the latest. I executed your suggested action, but "no joy". Harry. If you have installed to Drive D rather than C, why? a few help files etc. To test the CD-ROM drive, I used WinME CD and World Atlas. Okay, Harry. What kind of Win ME cd do you have? Who supplies it? If it's an OEM disc it could potentially cause problems if you accidentally initiate something. The World Atlas is probably okay but it is good to have an alternative (other than an OEM Win ME cd) and one from a computer magazine is useful in that it's probably in good condition. But this is a start. Please forgive me for the oversight. Okay, Harry. So tell us, where did you see the drive listed as a 'R/W' but now only as a 'W'? And do confirm whether you do or do not have a 100MB Iomega Zip drive connected. Shane |

Harry,
I'm hardly going to be here from now on. I just want to make the point that I didn't particularly expect any "joy". The point is that these things have to be eliminated from consideration. We have to arrive at the starting point before we can begin.
