Default Loading two operating systems

Can someone tell me how to load ME and XP on the same
computer? Do I have to create another partition? If so,
how do I do that? I have ME now But I'd like to install XP
and boot up to whichever version I choose

Thanx

Yes, you'll need to create another partition. You can do this without losing
your data, if you use a third-party tool, eg Partition Magic, BootItNG, or
you can do it with the ME Boot floppy, but erasing ME in the process.

Actually, ideally you'd have at least 3 partitions - one or more containing
personal files, eg the My Documents folder, which can be shared between ME
and XP, and won't be lost in the event of having to format and re-install
one or other OS.

ME should be the first partition, between 4 and 8 GB. XP should be about 8
GB upward. Though the size will depend on whether you use FAT32 or NTFS,
which itself sensibly depends on what size files you want to work with.

A lot of fools say go for NTFS regardless, but unless you're going to work
with large video files FAT32 is more sensible for a home user, in that you
can use a DOS boot disk to remove viruses, run Scandisk, or copy files en
masse from an unbootable XP volume if required. With NTFS you're
more-or-less screwed if you need to do any of that.
