Default MY SOUND CARD IS THERE! I KNOW IT

ok, so here's the deal

I just factory restored my comp, so everything should be
nice and working, but both my sound and mic are broken.
When scan for new hardware it tells me that "windows
stopped responding while attempting to start this device,
and therefore will never attempt to start this device
again."

If I tell it to update the driver, it says everything is
fine and that the driver was alreadyy there and
everything. I have no idea whats going on, and im too lazy
to do another factory restore. anyone got any ideas?

PLEASE FIX IT!

Boot into Safe Mode, open Device Manager, remove all items not being
recognized, reboot, Windows should re-detect.

Reboot to Safe Mode
Open Device Manager
Remove ALL Sound &Multimedia devices
Remove ALL error-flagged devices
Remove ALL entries in the 'Other Devices' branch - if present
Reboot to Normal Mode - Windows will reinstall the required drivers,
hopefully curing your problem.
