Default Display Prompt

Hi,
Whenever I start W98 a prompt comes up, "Display Control" Windows cannot
use the display setting you have choisen.
If I X it out everything works fine, I have tried changing resolution/colors
etc.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Default Display Prompt

Go to Start, Run and type: Msconfig
Check Selective Startup
Remove the check from Load startup group items and click OK

Now restart when prompted and see if the message about the display problem
is gone.

It sounds to me like you have a third party utility that is loading at
startup and giving you this message. If the message is gone after you
restart, go back to Msconfig and click the Startup tab and look for the
culprit. If you don't recognize it, check a few boxes, then reboot until
the message returns and then try to determine which caused the error to
return.

You may then want to go to Control Panel, add remove programs and see if
it's on the list of things that you can remove.
