Default Registry clean utility

I found that my Registry contains many entries related to various old
programs that are not present anymore in my PC.
So I want to clean this old registry entries a little. However the best
practice is to do this manually. But important thing is that all this need
be done extremelly accurately and exactly. Also, some programs may leave
their keys in more than one registry folder, so its not so easy to find it
all. I just need advice for some good utility which will make finding of
old registry entries more easy, and that will not to remove registry keys in
automatic mode, i.e. only user will to decide to remove specific key or not.

thanks.

I have used since 1999 the Registry Cleaner that is
part of Fix It Utilities (sold by www.vcom.com), now
version 6. It is as good as PCClean (Central Point
PC Tools, used for the decade earlier.) No delete
setting is enforced.

Good luck

PCMag's "Registry Detective" (take "RegEdit+ too) is better than a naked
RegEdit search, because it will only find an item once, if there is a
"mirror" elsewhere. Also, it will find items in binary fields, which
RegEdit does not. Finally, it finds ALL matches in 10 seconds & puts
them ALL to the screen. There is a Details button for further
examination of the Key. The search criteria can be adjusted and narrowed
in various ways. There is a button to click that will get one into
RegEdit+ (or RegEdit) open to that Key. I only wish there were an easy
way to copy/post the Keys that were found in the search.

"RegEdit+" provides a configurable "Favorites" menu of Registry key
locations, undo for Registry changes, and an Address Bar into which one
may drop a Registry address. The docs are a Registry tutorial in itself.

http://www.pcmag.com/ Has many, many great utilities: BHOCop, COA2,
ContextEdit, Crackup, DiskAction, EndItAll2, Folders, HDValet, InCtrl5,
ListZapper, RegDetective, RegEdit+, StartupCop, WinTidy, etc. Now,
suddenly, there is a subscription fee at PCMag, but, it's worth it,
especially if you can get the whole bundle that is there.

..........Start..................
Yearly billing $19.97
Yearly billing (For PC Magazine subscribers) $14.97
Monthly billing (limit 3 downloads/month) $4.97
..........End...................

You may try Google, but do you really want to download from any odd
site?

Hi Ron....
Nice looking lil' ute, but is there a help file other than the readme?(not
much
there)
I downloaded a Poker program about 10 months ago so that I could
watch a buddy play online; I soon realised it was also malaware and it
dumped a file called 'services' which was hijacking my comp'.
I deleted it via Add/Rem then cleaned up remnant folder and files via
explorer...... its not causing any problems now.
Using RegSeeker just now, I typed in 'Poker' and found 26 entries,
5 in Hkey Current User & 21 in Hkey Local Machine.

On the page showing the above entries are only 3 options; Select all,
Unselect all, & Invert selection....... no tool for removal or deletion.?
The only other area that I can see for removing/deleting is to actually use
the 'Clean the Registry' button of which is quite frankly 'scarey' with the
warnings galore.
It doesnt allow me to select just the Poker entries, or at least, I cant see
where it may.
Can you help/point me in the correct direction for using this proggy plz.
Thanks.

Here are typical entries from each catagorey in my reg that has Poker.

1)Hkey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\ShellNoRoam \MUICache\E:\AbPoker\Absol
utePoder\mainclient.exe

2)Hkey_Local_Machine\Software\Innoco\Casino\absolu te\common\INSTALINFO\E:\An
Poker\AbsolutePoker

there are 5 current user & 21 local machine.
They have been there for nearly a year, with no problems, but I thought it
would be a good hands-on for my first
registry removal activity as it seems like a relatively safe procedure
seeing as how it all relates to the Poker App
that has already been removed.
(personally, I would rather do it manually, without the aid of any third
party stuff, but I'm still a little timid in
the registry....... unless someone wants to talk me through it with side
comments of each step and why.)

This sounds like a good utility, I'd like to get it. However, when I d/l
the file RegSeeker.zip and open it with WinZip I get the error message "not
a valid archive." When I Google Regseeker For alternate sites I keep
getting redirected to Hoverdesk. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Dan
