Default Virus?

A link was clicked on and now I have an unwanted website popping up and
trying to dial into my modem ( I use dsl) It places a short-cut on my desk
top and my start menu. I've run virus, trojan you name it programs to try to
locate the original source. If I go to properties on the short cut it says
its located in the Windows video viewer folder. I deleted the folder,
uninstalled the program via install/ unintall it appears to be gone.. When
I'm online after a short time again it pops up a website and tries to access
my modem.

I'm at a loss as to where to look further. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Try downloading and installing a tool called ADAWARE - looks like your
PC needs a serious adware/spyware cleanup. Good luck!

Thanks for your suggestion. I've done adaware/spyware. It clears it and
then when I go back online it pops up once again.
