Version 1.59.1. It may very well be the last that Merijn will produce.

Q. When will CWShredder be updated again?
A. It won't be again, probably. I have a few bugs to fix, but after that
there's not much left to do - I simply do not have the tools to remove the
latest variants, they are too aggressive or complicated to allow automated
removal by CWShredder.

Get it from the Major Geeks (the site is usually available, and not DDoS'ed
to death)

Which... DDoS'ed to death? or the last version/update? Well, when Merijn was
over at my house the other nite..... VBG

He wrote that he couldn't keep up with the latest variants; too aggressive;
too difficult to fix; he doesn't have the tools, etc.

Third Q and A down in this link.
http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:q...merijn/+&hl=en

Even the fact that all the ANTS sites - such as SpywareInfo, Merijn,
Net-Integration, et al were attacked and were "unavailable"; "page cannot be
dispalyed" shows how big the battle is against malware miscreants.

I'll say.

Perhaps, like a lot of things. Hard work at first; midway is a snap... then
it's all downhill from there. You know there's the incentive to help people
and that's wonderful, but it doesn't pay the bills.

That's true. I wonder instead if he will decide to charge a small fee for
people to download future versions.

Th author is going to further his University Master Degree. He will no
longer have time to devote to that project.

I understand that He's looking for some one else to continue the updates.
Time will tell.
