Unable to connect to Internet via wireless connection
Here is the set up. Windows 98, Linksys WUSB 11 ver. 2.6 adapter, Linksys
BEFW11S4 router. I installed the linksys monitor/driver software first, plugged in the usb adapter, configured the software with my routers WEP key. It shows the signal and it's stregth and that it has found the router. I did everything I found at this website: http://www.crn.com/white-box/59201759 which is using the exact setup I have. I can not connect to the internet I can not ping other computers on the network but I can ping the Win98 computer from my laptop (running Vista). I do not see the Win98 computer on my Windows Vista laptop under Network. I can see it thru' the router under the the DHCP client table tab area. On the win98 machine I don't see any of the other computers on the network (2 laptops, one other desktop). I have plugged the adapter into my XP laptop to see if the adapter was working as it should and was able to connect to the internet with it so the adapter seems to be fine. What am I missing? |
