Default Volume

My volume seems to be disabled. Using control panel, multi media and volume
control i have checked and I do not have it muted. My volume icon is also
gone from screen. Any ideas????????

What do you mean that volume is 'disabled'? Do you mean that you have no
sound, or simply that you can't adjust the level of the sound? Can you see
the volume control slider in the mixer applet, and can you move it?

Check the status of the audio devices in Control Panel / Device Manager.
