Default XP and 98 running at the same time, how can i bring it back to one?

I had 98 and xp running together and then I got rid of XP! but XP still
appear as a choice when I start my PC ?!!?!

when i start my pc I have to chose wich operating system iI wanna use, but I
actually have only one.

I didn't have de XP cd when I remove it so I formated the drive...apparently
some of the XP system is still hiding somewhere!?

If anybody could help me get rid of that, it would be cool!

PS. how can i get rid of the password (which is nothing in my case!) that
keep comming up at start up??? I usually never set it up but at one point its
set itself up!!!!!!
thank.

XP questions are best asked in an XP newsgroup. If Windows is installed on
the primary partition of the boot drive you may be able to remove the XP
boot loader (which is where the menu is coming from) by booting to a W98
emergency restart disk and doing FDISK /MBR. If Windows isn't installed on
the primary partition on the boot drive you may be able to edit the XP boot
configuration file so that the menu doesn't appear (or instantly defaults)
and the system boots straight through to W98.
