What loads in Win 98 after vwavsyn.386
I get a failed Win 98 OS load, a flash of a blue screen
with VXD -- (no detail, )and a contstant reboot then after this program loads. I cannot stop it with Safe Mode either , it looks just like the regular mode , fails and recboots. What loads after this program, and how Can I get it back ?? Thanks ! |

The problem lies in the Sound driver/software. That is a Creative Labs =
file. Start up with a boot disk. At the prompt type below and press Enter after each line: cd c: attrib -h -r -s c:\autoexec.bat ren c:\autoexec.bat autoexec.old attrib -h -r -s c:\config.sys ren c:\config.sys config.old Remove the boot disk Press ctrl+alt+del to reboot Post back results in this thread. --=20 Brian A. If this continues with others you have many corrupted/missing driver =
files, that file is for the CD-ROM. I need to ask to be sure. When you = ran the commands before they completed correctly? Start the machine without the boot disk. Press and hold down the CTRL = key immediately after boot at the POST screen where you see the BIOS = detection of the drives/mouse/kb until you get the Startup Menu. Select DOS Command Prompt. At the prompt, type below and press Enter after: cd c: dir c:\ /p *note the spaces after dir and before /p Press Enter to move the screen one page at a time Do you see an autoexec.bat and config.sys or do you see the renamed = ones? *Do not do below if the above shows the original names.* Another possibility may be that you have a corrupted registry.. At the prompt, type below and press Enter after: =20 scanreg /restore *note the space before /. Select a date prior to when the problem began, do not select any RBbad. = *Note: If you boot/shutdown each new calendar day and the problem is = more than 5 days old this will do no good. OK Thought we had it - , no crash on the new restore but
it never finished either, now we are back to same old after vwavsyn.386 the system waits awhile, then after that - a touch of blue screen, and reboots loop, no help even with safe mode To recap Each action entered worked as you asked No errors, no problems Though I cannot for the life of me see the Bootlog file ???
