Startup icon missing???

Win98se

After upgrading a program, went to "start", "programs", "startup" and
deleted the program from startup(seems companies always want their programs
to auto start!!!).
Now my startup icon(shortcut) is missing. Not sure what I have done.
Since I've never messed with this, except to empty location, I'm guessing it
WAS in C:\windows\start menu\programs\startup but don't know sure and not
sure where it went.

suggestion to find it and "put it back" under start, programs.

There is no startup icon that I am aware of. By chance are you referring to
the startup folder on the start menu? If so, check the recycle bin to see
if it is there and restore it. If not, reboot and it should be rebuilt.

Start up folder is what I meant and after reboot, there it is.
