User profiles
Hi,
I'd like to get rid of the User logon popup (not the Windows logon one which I don't get as I never set a password for this). However if I just delete the only User I would be in trouble because almost all software and hardware on my PC has been installed under User "Justin". If I escape the logon, my PC has no internet, half my programs don't work and, where they do, any personal settings are lost. Presumably, I'd be in the same situation if I removed the user profiles thing. Is there any way to move the settings? I've copied the folders under Windows\Profiles\Justin to Windows\Profiles\All Users and this makes the base (escape logon) setup better but there's still lots of stuff missing. Do I have to muck around with the registry to do what I want to do? How / what? Is it very risky?!! Thanks in anticipation, for any advice, Justin |
