At least we all have fans these days, eh Mike? We're up to speed on
that one at last!

Trouble is with our variable weather I always forget about having a fan
until a couple of days if not more into the hot stuff. This year I
remembered but I remember last year one of the girls coming round and
asking me why I wasn't using it.

I'll never forget. I was working in a big office block a few years ago
during a heatwave and remember the frantic - and nationwide - scramble for
the pitifully-few fans in the shops. You could have got rich selling them
and I daresay some did! At a pinch I could jump on the bike and take a blast
around the ring road, but most of the 300 in the building were prisoners.
Funny thing was the department responsible for site services had air
conditioning like walking into a cold store!

Still cold here......sweatshirts and jeans. About 60F.......wot's
that in C?

Cold? Or 15C if you prefer. :-)

It's dropped to a more pleasant 80F/27C here at the moment but with 75%
humidity so it's still not as nice as it might be.

Hokay......Mars Bars are made in a factory in Bolton, Ontario by the Effem
Company.....which is about 20 minutes as the crow flies from Brampton.

Wonder who "FM" was.

I think it's rather them wearing company policy on their sleeve.

The company's called FourSquare here, btw.

we got the smell of the infamous Cippenham Sewage Works!

Don't remind me! I remember a time in the mid sixties when you needed a
peg on your nose to drive along that part of the M4. If it wasn't the
pong it was the sweet and sickly scent they were using to try and hide the
smell.

Fun place - with the wind in one direction we got the smell of
vanilla from the factory... with the wind in the opposite direction,
we got the smell of the infamous Cippenham Sewage Works!

lol I remember that, we're OK here, I have one of those floor standing
ones that swivel round, that's in the office though.

I think that living on the coast makes a difference here though.

Wonder who "FM" was. Haven't got a Mars bar handy to check. But I
did phone them a couple of months ago to complain of dried out ones
and got coupons for 6 freebies.....want me to send you some? Nah, I
ate them.

OTOH, most houses here (mine included) have central air conditioning and we
keep it at about 75F. Believe it is going back up over 30C in a couple of
days. I am SO GLAD it didn't hit those temps when we were in London. I
melt in that type of heat.

Odd.....no mention of airfare to Torremolinos....sigh!!
