Defrag not working

When I try and do a defrag, after a very short time - it says: "Drive
contents changed, restarting". I tried closing down everything except
Explorer, Systray, and Defrag. So nothing's running, did a spyware scan -
cleared out the 4 tracking cookies. Still the same thing keeps happening.

Thanx for the suggestion - I'll try it in Safe mode(I don't have a
screensaver enabled). And I did a Antivirus scan yesterday.
