3-5 second hangs when windows are created.
I have a WinME system on a Duron 950 machine that has been running fine for
several months. Lately, the computer has started freezing for 3-5 seconds whenever a confirmation box type window is created. Example, when exiting notepad, there is a short freeze when the "do you want to save the changes" window pops up. Same for MS WORD, emptying the recycle bin, anything that pops up some kind of confirmation box. ME has the latest patches and updates. Virus scans show nothing. Adaware shows nothing. Startup list in msconfig has nothing unusual. Active programs look normal - just explorer, systray, McAfee antivirus & tiny personal firewall. Any ideas? -- E-mail address is invalid due to spam overflow - Please reply in the newsgroup. -- |
