Default me boot up

After me splash screen comes on, what appears to be the
auto exec bat file shows being loaded. Tried to get "@echo
off" by changing the bat file but it keeps reverting back.
How do you stop it?

Win Me does not process the autoexec.bat file when booting. This file is
retained for backwards compatibility with applications that expect to see such
a file.

What exactly are you seeing when the system boots since it is not the contents
of autoexec.bat unless you have chosen to add this file to the startup folder.
If that is the case use a file with a different name and then Win Me won't
undo any changes to make to the file.

To repeat my earlier post, Win Me does not process or access the autoexec.bat
file when booting so if you are seeing the contents of this file you have some
other application installed, whether intentionally or behind your back, that
is causing this to happen.

Has this always happened? If not what changes did you make to your system
just prior to this problem starting? If recently have you considered using
system store to roll your system back to before this problem started? Use
MSConfig (Start, Run, enter MSConfig in the box and click OK), open the
Start-up tab and look for any new entries or even one that refers to
autoexec.bat.
