Default CD ROM not working

-----Original Message-----
I have just upgraded to Windows ME and now my cdrom is

not
working. I can not find my CD drive anywhere on my
computer. Can I fix this? What do I do? I have tried
adding new hardware it doesn't help, I have tried
reloading WindowsME and that doesn't help. I have tried
disconnecting and reconnecting my cd drive and it doesn't
help. Is this fixable or am I stuck?

Did 3 clean installs of winME ...seem the more I would
update the os suddenly my dvd-rw and cd-rom would vanish
from windows but NOT Dos...still saw in Bios and bootup.
It's an IDE controller issuse. Have you installed your
MotherBoard drivers right after winME install? if
so...it's a winME is suppose to have the right drivers for
the new Motherboard chipsets. would Need more info on your
Motherboard and IDE controller chipset. Hope this helped.
