Default Win98SE CPUROCKET.DLL Not found!

I have: AMD Athlon 1.2GHz; 256MB DDR RAM; Abit Siluro T400 graphics card;
ASUS A7A266 DDR SDRAM 266MHzFSB AGP Pro/4X SOCKET A Motherboard; Creative
Soundblaster Live MP3+5.1 .
A couple of weeks ago I mistakenly (I think) downloaded and foolishly used
Advanced Stystem Optimizer from Systweak Inc. It also provided a registry
cleaner. Yeah, I did it. The system, of course, wouldn't load anything at
start-up. Upon re installing Win98Se from original CD, ( I thought
everything would go back to the "way it was" before problem) system works ok
except for the Error pop-up 'File CPUROCKET.DLL Not Found.' A computer savvy
friend (no longer available) downloaded the file 'CPUROCKET.DLL.exe' for me
and I loaded it. It's running fine (the file) on the taskbar, but, I still
get the Error message at start-up. What, if anything, can or should I do
about it.

Your help and understanding is greatly appreciated

You could either reinstall the "accelerator" that you had installed
previously (not a recommendation) or remove or disable the bad
reference in Startup.

Check in Msconfig for any oddities.
(Start-Run-MSCONFIG-Startup tab)
If you cannot see anything in Msconfig then:

Start-Run-msinfo32
Click the + beside Software Environment to expand.
Click Startup Programs
Ctrl+A to Select All, Ctrl+C to Copy.
Paste that information in your message.

Reviews for CpuRocket are very poor. Seems to slow things down by dedicating cpu
cycles to only one program while multi-tasking. Also seems to install 'spyware',
etc.
Read reviews he
http://www.download.com/3302-2086_4-...html?pn=1&fb=0
http://www.download.com/CPURocket/30...ml?tag=stbc.gp
The second URL tells you that this product also installs adware and includes an
Uninstaller.
I would go to Add-Remove Programs (Control Panel) and uninstall the program.
I would also download, install, update and then run the two free Adware detector
and remover programs called AdAwareSE and SpyBot.

Alan:
Thanks for answering. The instruction to "Paste that information in your
message." has me wondering which message (Sorry!). In an e-mail or in a
reply to your reply? If the latter, it will be a monster post (as well as
jumbled because of space limitations).

Buffalo:
Thanks to you as well. I will remove it and load the two recommended
programs.

Paste it here so others can see it for preference, though you can use
email if you like. It should not be huge. Mine is only 23 lines,
though I have seen many larger.
If it has too many wraps in it, then separate lines for legibility.
