Serial port question
When trying to set up a pcmcia modem I see references to setting it up
in the serial output port. My ThinkPad manual says the serial port is on the back. What am I missing about the crossup between these two ports? Jim L -- Kerry (if president) would have improved the economy by preventing the huge job losses like those Enron crooks caused!!! |

A serial port is not relevant for a PCMCIA modem. The serial port allows a
serial device to communicate with the CPU. PCMCIA accomplishes exactly the same task, in a different way. I would guess that your instructions originally regferred to a serial port modem and have not been completely updated.
