Default border on edges of monitor

For some reason when I open windows now there is about a
3/4" black border on the top and two sides of my screen.
This reduces the screen size considerably and causes a few
problems. I've tried to find the solution with no luck so
far. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Adjust your monitor. There are likely buttons on it somewhere to do this.
Consult the manual.
