Default Messenger.exe

It looks like my Windows/System/messenger.exe was attacked
and I have deleted it.

Now I can neiother re-install Windows ME (stops installing
itself when installation 10 % complete). Nor will critical
updates load up properly. Also Norton Anti-Virus creates
an error message that it can't check my Emails.

Any ideas how I can correct this.

It would probably help if you uninstalled all things Norton! - you can't
reinstall ME, or install updates with Norton running (or even loaded, if you
want to be sure about it)

What problems are you having that make you want to reinstall ME - perhaps we
can fix them??

Look here for help in reinstalling ME over itself
